Starting the flight with a little help from the 12th fan.
The day began well—relaxing breakfast at the Alaska Air VIP
Boardroom. No delays, smooth flight. Upon arrival at Reagan, quickly retrieved by
Americana Hotel courtesy van (interestingly, a Transit Connect). Bikes in their boxes promptly delivered to
our room upon arrival, and they looked to be in fine shape. Unpacked Rob’s first. All was fine.
Unpacked Diane’s. Not all
fine. Well, the bike was fine, but the
tire pump was inexplicably damaged beyond repair. Luckily, a bike shop nearby had a reasonably
priced pump. Rob caught a cab, and
within about 30 minutes he returned with a new pump and began reassembling the
bikes. Now, about four hours later, looks
like the bikes are ready to roll.
The Bikes are assembled and ready to roll tomorrow.
The end of my vintage 1970's Zefal HP pump! Fedex strikes again.
Nothing to do but console myself with a pizza.
